DENNIS EDWARDSDENNIS EDWARDS spent 17 years as a news reporter before becoming a talk show host in the early 1990's. He credits his thick skin for the tough journalism world to the 4 years he was lost in the Everglades as a child being raised by alligators. When he finally returned to his hometown of Baltimore, he found he was no longer welcome because he could not properly pronounce the city's name. He said: BALL'-TIH-MORE. Everyone else said: BAWL'-MER. So, after his 1976 graduation from the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland, he left Baltimore to begin his radio career as a country disc jockey in Pulaski, Virginia. After immediately being pegged as a "northerner," he picked up the southern accent within a couple of months and then promptly moved to Pennsylvania where he was labeled a "southerner." For the past 25 years, he's been struggling to get the hang of "Pennsylvania dutch." You can check on his progress weekday mornings from 6-to-9AM on YORK'S MORNING NEWS.
