YORK REVOLUTION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 6, 2007

DARRELL HENRY INTRODUCED AS THE “VOICE OF THE REVOLUTION”

Radio broadcaster, along with on-field host Stu Leppo, announced at press conference

The York Revolution Baseball Club, along with NEWSRADIO 910 WSBA, introduced Darrell Henry as the play-by-play radio broadcaster for the team’s inaugural season, during a press conference at the Yorktowne Hotel on Tuesday afternoon. The Revolution also introduced Stu Leppo as the on-field host for games at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

Henry will serve as the primary broadcaster for all 126 Revolution games in 2007 on WSBA, the “Official Broadcast Home of York Revolution Baseball.” A York native who will graduate from York College this May, Henry was selected after a three-month nationwide search which produced over 100 candidates from across the community and country.

“Darrell’s obvious passion and enthusiasm, not just for the game of baseball but for the entire York community, really came through during the search process and set him apart from the other great candidates,” said Revolution General Manager Matt O’Brien. “I have no doubt that this energy will translate into the broadcasts and that our fans will enjoy listening to our games over the airwaves.”

Since 2004, the 22-year-old has served as a baseball, basketball and football play-by-play announcer on ESPN Radio 1350 WOYK and ESPN 1600 WPDC-AM. He has called high school state championships, along with Millersville University and York College games. He also hosted and produced “Central PA Gameday,” a weekly regional sports show, and has served as York College’s event public address announcer for the past four years.

“One of the key qualities we were looking for in a broadcaster was a personal character that represents the standards of our community and reflects the spirit of our ‘Revolution,’” said Cumulus Media Market Manager Todd Toerper. “We received referrals for Darrell from community leaders, other broadcasters and Major League announcers. I know this will not be a job for Darrell, but rather his passion.”

Leppo will serve as the Revolution’s on-field host for all home games at Sovereign Bank Stadium in 2007. In this role, the former professional wrestler and ring announcer will enhance the fan experience by conducting pre-game ceremonies, coordinating in-game promotions and interacting with fans.

Leppo is currently a producer, on-air talent and morning drive traffic director for Cumulus York. He is an award-winning producer of “The Gary Sutton Show” on WSBA, a D.J. on WSOX 96.1 and anchor of WSBA’s “York Morning News Saturday.” He also owns and operates Leppo Music Productions and can do over 100 vocal impressions.

“Upon first meeting Stu, we immediately realized that this on-field role would be perfect for him,” said O’Brien. “Stu will play a big part in making the fan experience at our ballpark the best in the country and I’m sure he will find a way to creatively work in his wrestling background and voice impression abilities.”

As part of the game broadcasts on WSBA, there will also be a 60-minute pre-game show prior to most games, which will include in-depth features, player interviews, a manager’s report and game recaps. Portions of the pre-game show for games at Sovereign Bank Stadium will be held outside of the stadium and include fan participation. A ten-minute post-game show will follow the game and previous game highlights will be broadcast during the WSBA Morning Show. Internet broadcasts will also be made available for fans worldwide. The three-year partnership was announced last October.

The Revolution begin play this spring, with the first-ever game in Sovereign Bank Stadium scheduled for May 15. Season ticket packages and group event opportunities are now available by visiting www.YorkRevolution.com, or by calling 717-801-HITS.
